Supplier lawsuits
and General Motors' own weak financial position threatened to delay the
introduction of the 2010 Camaro despite the 14,000 pre-orders, but the
car's production was launched last week without a hitch. Today,
however, word is emerging that the Z28 and Convertible versions are not
going to materialize any time soon.
Previous reports on the Camaro Z28
- an even higher-performance spec than the SS - indicated that even
though design and development was complete, the car might not be built
due to cost issues with such a low-volume variant. Now it seems the
word inside GM is that the car is canceled - at least for the present,
reports The Detroit Bureau.
